Art of Walking

< Back to landart
„Besides painting, photography and videos I became increasingly interested in landart since 2012. The focus of my artistic exploration turned to the experience of my own movement and the movement of nature around me: Tracing paths through both space and time, from creation, through change and into decline. Just the manner of walking can activate the senses and makes the boundaries of the self tangible, at the same time spurring on ones imagination in some way. When this comes together with the tensions of a particular environment, the act of walking turns into a very special phenomenon. It is not meant to carry any one message - I rather see it as an art of life.“

„So beautiful and powerful this is, the dynamics of the action in contrast to the sandpattern from the crabs, and then the silence of the blue. A union of meditation and action. We always have this need for walking from one spot to another, following a goal. This is walking as being.“
